Additional Information
| Location | Deck 2 — Officers & Core Crew | |
| Description | ![]() The Captain's Cabin serves as the private living quarters of the commanding officer of the Wayfarer's Promise. Larger than the standard crew cabins elsewhere on Deck 2, it provides somewhere genuinely separate from the responsibilities of the bridge while still keeping the Captain close to the ship's command areas. The cabin combines sleeping, working and personal living space within a practical shipboard layout. A full-sized berth occupies one section of the compartment, accompanied by built-in storage for clothing and personal belongings. A small sitting area provides somewhere to relax without having to use one of the ship's communal lounges. A private desk and terminal allow the Captain to review reports, correspondence or shipboard information from their quarters. Unlike the Captain's Ready Room on Deck 1, however, this workspace is intended primarily for personal use rather than formal meetings or daily ship administration. Storage has been incorporated wherever space permits, including compartments beneath furniture and recessed lockers built into the walls. Independent lighting and environmental controls allow the cabin to be adjusted to its occupant's preferences. Although more spacious than most accommodation aboard the Wayfarer's Promise, the Captain's Cabin is still unmistakably part of a working freighter. Furnishings are durable, space is used efficiently, and comfort has been achieved without wasting room that the ship cannot afford to lose. Over time, personal possessions, keepsakes and other small touches can make this one of the few places aboard ship that belongs entirely to the Captain rather than to the vessel and its crew. |
