| Description | ![]() The Tactical / Sensors Station combines the Wayfarer's Promise' primary sensor controls with management of the vessel's defensive systems. From here, a crew member can monitor the space surrounding the ship, identify nearby vessels and hazards, and coordinate defensive responses when required. The sensor suite draws information from the ship's passive and active arrays, allowing the operator to track vessels, analyse energy signatures, examine planetary surfaces and investigate unusual readings. Information gathered here can be transferred directly to the bridge's flight, navigation and systems stations, giving the command crew a shared picture of the surrounding environment. Despite the name, the Wayfarer's Promise is not a warship. Its tactical systems are intended primarily to protect the vessel, its passengers and its cargo long enough to escape a dangerous situation. The station controls defensive weapon systems, targeting sensors and associated fire-control equipment while also monitoring the condition of the ship's shields. The console can track multiple contacts simultaneously and assign threat classifications based on behaviour, weapons signatures and proximity. During normal operations it is frequently used for more mundane tasks, including monitoring traffic around busy ports, scanning potential landing areas and identifying navigational hazards. Like many systems aboard the Wayfarer's Promise, the sensor equipment has been modified over the years. Components from several manufacturers operate alongside the original hardware, giving the ship a capable if somewhat unconventional sensor suite that rewards an operator who knows its particular quirks. |
